SCHOOLING RATE AMONG 5 YEAR OLD AGE GROUP REACHED 90 PERCENT

Efforts to open 3 thousand new kindergartens and 40 thousand new preschool classes until the end of 2022 continue without interruption. Till now, 59 new kindergartens and 6,950 new classes have been opened. Hence, the schooling rate among the 5 year old age group increased from 78 percent to 90 percent.

As a part of a project carried out in an effort to disseminate preschool education, the Ministry of National Education completed the bidding process for the construction of 214 new kindergarten buildings. Moreover, the construction of 1095 new kindergarten buildings has been included to the investment plan of the ministry.
 
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer noted that the Ministry is aiming at disseminating preschool education in order to increase equal opportunity in education adding that, "Within this framework, we will open 3 thousand new kindergartens and 40 thousand new preschool classes until the end of 2022. The project was initiated and implemented under the auspices and support of Emine Erdoğan. As the first step of the project, the construction of 100 new kindergarten buildings each having 12 classrooms had begun. We are planning to increase the schooling rate among 3 year old age group to 50%. As of the end of 2021, we already achieved the goal we set for February 2022."
 
Preparations for the construction of 1632 kindergarten school buildings are ready
Stressing that the Ministry has completed its plans to reach schooling rate goals, Özer went on to say that: "Within this framework, we have opened 59 new kindergartens and 6,950 new classes. Right now, we are working on defining the places where we will open new schools. We will achieve an important increase in the preschool schooling rates and reach the OECD average."
