PRIMARY SCHOOLS WILL BE OPENED IN UNDER AND SCATTERED POPULATED VILLAGES AND RURAL AREAS

Amendment in the opening, closing and naming education institutions regulation entered into force after it was published in the Official Gazette.

The amendment stipulates that regardless of the number of students, primary schools will be opened in under and scattered populated areas. It also allows the Ministry of National Education to open kindergarten classrooms for at least 5 students.

According to the regulation, special education kindergarten classrooms and preschool classrooms should be located on the sunny side of the ground floor, if not possible then, in well ventilated, sunny classrooms on other floors.

Amendment decreases the number of classrooms which are obligatory to open Science and Arts Centers (BİLSEMs). The new regulation aims at disseminating education opportunities offered to special talented children.

Amendment also regulated the minimum student capacity required to open dormitories and it decreased this figure from 100 to 50.
