GOOD PRACTICES IN LANGUAGE EDUCATION: ACTION RESEARCH CONFERENCE

Deputy Minister of National Education Sadri Şensoy attended "Good Practices in Language Education: Action Research Conference" organized by the Turkish and Language Education Research and Development Center affiliated to the Board of Education and Morality.

Deputy Minister Şensoy noted that the country has a large education system adding that, "Our government has been making investments in order to increase the quality of education since 2002 and our Ministry gets the largest share from the budget since then."
 
"There is a strong link between education and development"
"We must increase the quality of human resources for a strong Türkiye. It is obvious that we have to raise responsible, sensitive and respectful students who are loyal to national and moral values for the establishment of our future. There is a strong link between education and development," said Şensoy.
 
Şensoy also made comments about projects carried out about language education and their outcome during his speech.
 
Director General for Religious Education M. Nezir Gül, Director General for Vocational and Technical Education Nazan Şener, Director General for Lifelong Learning Sabahattin Dülger and İstanbul Provincial Director of National Education Levent Yazıcı were also present at the conference.
 
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board of Education and Morality Cihad Demirli noted that the Turkish and Language Education Research and Development Center was founded in 2021 with the purpose of making contribution to language education based on national and social values in line with quality and equal opportunity in education policy.
 
Expert language teachers and ministry staff are working in the center that carries out Turkish and foreign language education activities. The center has an advisory board which includes 10 members from different universities.
  
"Main problems of Turkish education will be discussed during the conference"
Cihad Demirli noted that Turkish is among the most spoken languages of the world and stressed the importance of teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
 
"Main problems of Turkish education will be discussed during the conference. We are also aiming at developing a language education system based on good practices," added Demirli.
